RAISE Consulting is pleased to announce that its founder, Anne Marie Labenburg MSN, RN, MSM, has been named an Ambassador for The United State of Women (USOW), a national agency that amplifies the work of organizations and individuals at the forefront of the fight for women’s equality, and provides tools, access and connections that help women see and step into their power to break down the barriers that hold women back. Labenberg was selected after a series of interviews on how she plans to serve the community in regard to gender equity.
The Ambassador Program is an opportunity for current and future leaders who are passionate about fighting for gender equity – no matter their background or experience. Ambassadors are armed with the tools, resources, connections and support they need to tell the story of women’s power and make measurable changes in their communities.
“I am excited to be able to leverage the resources of USOW to bring opportunities for Indiana women and allies that connect, convene, and raise the voices of others already working hard for gender equity,” said Labenberg.
USOW launched the Ambassador program in 2018, with 22 ambassadors in eleven states, as an opportunity to work one-on-one with local leaders across the country to build support for their local gender equity movement and work to create more equitable communities. The 2019-2020 cohort consists of 81 women and women-identifying folks who represent 41 states across the U.S. Labenberg is one of two for Indiana. Ambassadors are volunteers who commit roughly 5 hours per week throughout the year to bring together those in their community interested in achieving a more united movement for gender equity.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, Labenberg has developed a passion for creating a better community through education, support, and advocacy. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to found and operate a home healthcare business, which she ran for over a decade. This experience illuminated some gaps in the healthcare system and she has turned that experience into an opportunity to help others navigate the system. She is a tireless warrior for the underserved and underrepresented. As a mother of twins, born from a high-risk pregnancy, her primary areas of focus are women’s health, maternal mortality, infant mortality, and the effects of the opioid crisis on all populations.
Combining experience, expertise, project management, adult education, health promotion, and advocacy efforts, Labenberg is committed to making a difference in Allen County, Northeast Indiana, and beyond.
