CCSI Bolsters Soil Health Programming

The Indiana Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative (CCSI) has hired a new Program Manager with a strong focus on Northern Indiana. Sheila Schroeder joins CCSI from her post as the Assistant District Director at the Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation District. “In my two-years at SWCD, I immediately fell in love with the work. I feel that my clients are our entire community. Everybody needs to care about our soil and water. Working for CCSI will provide the opportunity to do the work I care about on a larger scale,” Schroeder said.

Sheila will be joining CCSI with 20-years of experience organizing events. “We are excited for Sheila to join the CCSI team. Sheila’s experience with Soil and Water Conservation Districts, coupled with her event management skill set, will be a valuable asset to an already strong CCSI team,” Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Executive Director Joe Schmees said. Her community engagement stems from her years working as the Director of Tourism and Community Relations for the Jasper County Economic Development Organization and the Director of Community Relations and Development at Jasper County Hospital. “I’m really looking forward to Sheila joining our CCSI team. She’s bringing a solid understanding of our Indiana Conservation Partnership along with years of experience in event organization marketing/public relations to the table. All of those skills will be invaluable when working with our diverse group of partners,” CCSI Director Lisa Holscher said.
