CBRE | Sturges To Become Sturges Property Group

CBRE | Sturges will soon be known as Sturges Property Group. CBRE and CBRE | Sturges have mutually agreed not to renew their affiliate agreement, and as of November 1, 2018, CBRE | Sturges will transition to a fully independent firm under the name Sturges Property Group.

Sturges Property Group, a full-service commercial real estate firm that serves Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas, was originally founded in 1975 and known as Sturges, Griffin Trent & Co. until its affiliation with CBRE in 1997. The firm’s original office was located downtown at the corner of Harrison and Washington Streets, and it moved a few blocks north to what is now the 202 Metro building in 1980. Showing a continued commitment to downtown Fort Wayne, Sturges Property Group led the redevelopment at 202 Metro and recently occupied a brand new modern and vibrant office on the fifth floor of the building.

“Since our founding in 1975, our company has always been independently owned, so this transition will have minimal impact on the ways we do business. Our signs and our logo have changed, but our ownership and our highly-skilled and dedicated employees remain the same,” said company founder and CEO Barry Sturges.

Through this transition, Sturges Property Group is maintaining decades of expertise while making a progressive shift to better serve the modern state of the industry. Brad Sturges, President of Sturges Property Group, said, “As we look forward to our next chapter, we are very excited about our transition to an independent brand. This will provide us with increased flexibility, more control over our digital presence, and the ability to grow regionally. Additionally it allows us to further integrate our sister companies, Maintenance Management, Sturges Development, and Nexus Technology Partners. We are always looking for ways to improve how we serve our brokerage and property management clients, and our relationship-driven style is better suited to being a fully independent firm.”

“Both CBRE and Sturges Property Group will continue to collaborate on current assignments in progress and expect to work together on a non-exclusive basis on certain new assignments in the Fort Wayne market. CBRE thanks Barry Sturges and the entire Sturges team for their dedicated efforts to serve clients,” said John Latessa, President, Midwest Region, CBRE.

Sturges Property Group, with the help of local agency Reusser Design, has launched a new website which can be seen at SturgesProperty.com
