Aging & In-Home Services Begins Renovations On Former Home Office

Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana, Inc. (AIHS) has begun renovations on its former home office, 2927 Lake Avenue, to create space for a new program it will offer called PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).

PACE is an innovative Medicare and Medicaid program that helps people age 55 or older meet their health care needs in the community instead of going to a nursing home or other care facility. PACE programs coordinate and provide all needed preventive, primary, acute and long-term care services so that older individuals can continue living independently in the community.

PACE organizations provide care and services in the home, the community and the PACE center.

AIHS President & CEO Connie Benton Wolfe said, “We are eager to be at the forefront of offering this new model of integrated care to residents in the Fort Wayne area. This renovation project is the first step in creating a center where residents can receive the coordinated care they need to continue to live independently in the community.”

PACE of Northeast Indiana will be complete in mid-2020.

The architect for the project is MKM architecture + design, and the general contractor is Weigand Construction.
