New Signal Planned for S.R. 37 in Allen County

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that a new signal is planned for the intersection of S.R. 37 and St. Joe Center Road/Irving Road on or after Monday, June 17, weather permitting.

Beginning Monday morning, INDOT contractor, Shambaugh & Sons, will begin working on the new signal installation. Drivers can expect lane restrictions and traffic directed by flagger near the intersection.

The project also includes the installation of flashing yellow arrows (FYA) on left-turn signals. FYA have been shown to improve traffic flow and reduce waiting times at signals. More information about the flashing yellow left-turn arrow is available on INDOT’s web site at [youtube http://youtube.com/w/?v=TmSfBsVKs7o%5D

Work is expected to be completed by late September, weather permitting. The contract was awarded to Shambaugh & Sons for $155,000.
