Mayor Henry Proclaims Today As Bud And Jean Mendenhall Day In The City Of Fort Wayne

Mayor Tom Henry today welcomed Bud and Jean Mendenhall as guests to the Mayor’s office and proclaimed Thursday, Jan. 10 as Bud and Jean Mendenhall Day in the City of Fort Wayne.

The Mendenhall’s have been neighborhood leaders and community advocates for more than 30 years. They recently announced their retirement from leadership with the Bloomingdale Neighborhood Association.

“Bud and Jean are wonderful people, and we’re so appreciative of their commitment and dedication to neighborhoods, community involvement and the well-being of all residents,” said Mayor Henry. “Connectivity to trails, the new Franklin School Park, improvements along the Wells Street corridor, investments in neighborhood infrastructure and riverfront development are just a few of the projects the Mendenhall’s have been involved with to improve the quality of life in our community. Their leadership and volunteerism have been instrumental in Fort Wayne becoming a point of destination city.”

The Mendenhall’s were joined by family members, friends, elected officials and City of Fort Wayne employees for the special recognition ceremony.
