Lincoln Financial Foundation Has Awarded $15,000 To MHANI For Cedars Hope

Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana (MHANI) has been awarded a grant in the amount of $15,000 by Lincoln Financial Foundation. The funds from this grant will be used to support Cedars Hope, a supportive housing program for women with severe mental illness.

Cedars Hope can currently house 15 women who have a severe, chronic mental illness and are at risk of being homeless. The women living at Cedars Hope would very likely be homeless without the kind of permanent, supportive housing offered there. In addition to having a home, the residents learn to be productive and independent while living at Cedars Hope, with the hope that one day they will be able to live on their own again.

“Residents and staff at Cedars Hope are grateful for the continued support of Lincoln Financial Foundation,” Lisa Smith, Executive Director of MHANI, said. “Grant funding makes Cedars Hope possible and successful. Truly, without funders like Lincoln Financial Foundation, Cedars Hope could not exist to help women become independent and successful once again.”

Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes in empowering people to live greater lives, which advances culture and empowers greater positive change. Its grant is part of Lincoln Financial’s annual $10 million investment in its local communities’ youth education, economic and workforce development, human well-being and arts programs.
