More Than A Game Project Receives New Scoreboard

1st Source Bank donates $15,000 to provide a new scoreboard included in the More Than a Game Project. This contribution is one feature in the highly-anticipated, large renovation of World Baseball Academy’s outdoor ball fields. The More Than a Game Project will enhance and strengthen the social, economic, and cultural fabric of the community through kids and their families. Upon completion, project highlights include three new youth baseball fields with artificial surface infields, and natural grass outfields with an irrigation system. Two fields will be sized for young players through high school, and one for up to collegiate level players.

Caleb Kimmel, CEO, World Baseball Academy says, “Our organization is grateful for the generous support of 1st Source Bank. Their donation will fund a new scoreboard to be installed on one of the ASH Centre renovated artificial turf fields. Thousands of young people and their experience on these fields will now be enhanced because of the 1st Source Bank’s kind generosity!"

World Baseball Academy, Inc. is a non-profit whose mission is to use the platform of baseball to exemplify excellence and leadership beyond the game. Their vision is to develop future leaders who positively impact our world. They provide leadership development opportunities through their four “Ts” of impact: Tournaments, Team Support, Training and Trips. The World Baseball Academy has more than 4,000 boys and girls that participate in their programs each year.

1st Source Regional President, Larry Mayers added, “1st Source Bank recognizes the positive impact that the World Baseball Academy has on the lives of children in our community. We are pleased to be able to provide resources for a new scoreboard so that we can help their program build future leaders for Fort Wayne.”
