New Local Business Opens In Covington Plaza

Local entrepreneurs Brian Army and Dave Craker have opened a custom-scented, all-natural, soy candle and home fragrance store in Covington Plaza.

Customers may purchase from over one hundred single-scented candles, or, with guidance from the store’s staff, may make their own scent combinations. Customers can select a store-provided container available in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors or may also bring in their own candle-safe containers to make into a candle.

Beside candles, customers may also make wax melts, reed diffusers, body/room sprays and soaps. The candles are slow-burning and longer-lasting than standard, store-bought candles. They also retain their full scent for the life of the candles.

Businesses or brides may also make a signature scent with their logo or wedding date as promotional materials or thank you gifts. The Wick Works also provides fundraising opportunities for schools, clubs and organizations.

“At The Wick Works you can make a premium, soy-based candle that has an all-natural cotton wick and no chemical additives,” Brian Army, owner and store manager, said.

Army added, “While everyone’s scent allergies are different, because the store product line is all-natural, customers adversely sensitive to scents have had success using our products.”

The process to select fragrances and make the products takes about 30 minutes. “While the wax products cool, customers may enjoy shopping and dining at nearby businesses, making The Wick Works an excellent date night activity,” Dave Craker, owner and business manager, said.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12-5 p.m. on Sunday. The store phone number is 260-467-9654, and the website is www.thewickworks.com. Customers can also find The Wick Works on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using @thewickworks.
