Details:

1. Five area schools will enter into the second annual “U Can Crush Hunger” competition to raise food and funds for the holiday season. Last year, schools raised more than 42,000 pounds of food to fight hunger. This year, the new goal is to raise 50,000 pounds of food.

2. This year’s campaign begins on Monday, October 24th and concludes on Friday, November 4th. Ongoing weigh-ins will determine competition standings, sponsored by Two Men and A Truck®.

3. Students, faculty, alumni, and staff will participate in various events to raise awareness about hunger, while supporting their school in the friendly competition.

4. We encourage people in the community to participate and help us beat our goal. High demand items include canned fruits and vegetables, canned tuna, peanut butter, and soup. In addition, each dollar donated during the competition will count as four pounds of food.
