A Celebration Of International Quilting Day

Who: Appleseed Quilters Guild, Inc., a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization based in Fort Wayne
What: 26th Annual Gathering of Quilters: A Celebration of International Quilting Day
Where: Wayne High School, 9100 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana
When: March 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: Pre-registration through March 11 is $20/person (includes box lunch, door prize opportunities, goodie bag and commemorative pin).
Day of Show: $15/person (does not include lunch / door prize/pin).
What to expect: Over 700 quilters will gather to Celebrate International Quilting Day. Nationally known quilting teacher/lecturer/fabric designer Pat Sloan will speak. A quilt display, show and tell, vendor mall and quilt related services will be offered.

This year’s theme is “Better Quilting Through Education”. Stunning quilts made by guild members at workshops taught by nationally known quilt teachers will be displayed.

Featured speaker Pat Sloan will present a fun and entertaining look at her life as a quilter.

Over 200 quilts will be on display, over 25 vendors will sell/demonstrate quilting items, scissor sharpening, quilt appraisals, show and tell, block exchange, and ugly fabric contest, etc. A queen size quilt will be raffled to benefit The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.

Appleseed Quilters Guild, Inc. supports a variety of charities including: dog beds for the ASPCA, Touch Quilts for Alzheimer’s patients, Camp Whatcha-Wanna-Do Kids Quilts, Shepherds House, Red Cross quilts, Mustard Seed, Crossroads, Charis House, Vincent House, Turnstone, SCAN, Project Linus, and Matthew 25.
