One Lucky Guitar Featured In 2015 Print Regional Design Annual

One Lucky Guitar (OLG) was honored in Print magazine’s prestigious 2015 Regional Design Annual for its work on the identity and branding of Indiana Signworks.

Print, the design industry’s most well-respected and sought-after annual, showcases 348 of the best American designs of the year. And this year, OLG was one of the few Indiana firms—and the only Fort Wayne firm—among the winners.

Midwest design judge Charles S. Anderson, founder of the iconic Minneapolis-based Charles S. Anderson Design Co., selected OLG’s design from 774 entries in the region. The design that caught his attention was a logo, business suite and brand book for Indiana Signworks, one of the largest, full-service sign companies in the region formed by a merger between Indiana Stamp and Mid-America Sign.

OLG art director Jake Sauer said the branding nods to the signage industry as a whole, with an abstract pattern inspired by elements of 3D sign blueprints. Overall, it gives a fresh, contemporary look to a company built on two legacies of experience and Hoosier heritage.

This marks OLG’s fourth Regional Design Annual win.

“We’re proud to represent Northeast Indiana in the prestigious Print Regional Design Annual, again,” said OLG founder Matt Kelley. “Special thanks to our dreamy clients at Indiana Signworks for the trust and collaboration and to Charles S. Anderson for putting the time in and judging the work.”

About the 2015 Print Regional Design Annual

The Regional Design Annual issue by Print magazine is the only comprehensive survey of design throughout the U.S. There were 3,493 submissions in 2015 from each corner of the country, and 774 from the Midwest alone. Charles S. Anderson of Charles S. Anderson Design was the judge for the Midwest. His work has been exhibited in museums worldwide, including The Permanent Collection of the Museum of Modern Art; The Nouveau Salon des Cent-Centre Pompidou, Paris; The Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; The Smithsonian Institution’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, New York; and other institutions.
