Byron Health Center To Host Corvettes, Harleys & S’more Mini-Festival

Byron Health Center will host a fun evening for all on the Byron Health Center Campus grounds, 12101 Lima Rd in Fort Wayne. Members of the Fort Wayne Corvette Club will bring their highly coveted ‘Vettes’ while the American Legion Riders 4th District will bring their desirable ‘Hogs’ to Byron Health Center on Wednesday, July 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Both staff and residents from Byron Health Center will spend the early evening enjoying the many styles, varieties and ages of Chevrolet Corvettes and Harley Davidson motorcycles that will gather in the Byron Health Center parking lot at the northwest corner of Carroll Rd and Lima Rd along State Hwy 3. The public is also welcome to come out and enjoy the American iconic automobiles and motorcycles throughout the evening. Admission is free.

This will be the third time in as many years that the Fort Wayne Corvette Club has gathered at Byron Health Center. “We are delighted that the Fort Wayne Corvette Club has chosen Byron Health Center to show off their beautiful cars,” said Elizabeth Johnson, Byron Health Center Director of Life Enrichment, “Our residents and staff are really looking forward to seeing all of the Corvettes up close and personal!” This will be the first year for the American Legion Riders Chapter 82 to join the Fort Wayne Corvette Club in filling the Byron Health Center parking lot with many styles and versions of Harley Davidson motorcycles.

The Byron Health Center Resident Council will also present a mini-festival in the Friendship Corner courtyard area of the campus during Corvettes, Harleys & S’more that will serve as a fund-raiser. Snow cones will be available along with, popcorn and beverages, for a suggested donation of $1 each. The event is open to the community, admission is free and all are invited to participate and enjoy.

The Fort Wayne Corvette Club was founded in 1970 to provide Corvette owners and enthusiasts in Northeastern Indiana the opportunities to spend time with a great group of people with similar interest. The Corvette Club belongs to the National Council of Corvette Clubs and is active year-round. The Fort Wayne Corvette Club helps to support local charities such as the Wounded Warrior, Local police forces, Veterans and various other community outreach programs. The American Legion Riders are well known for their charitable work, raising funds for local children’s hospitals, schools, scholarships, veterans’ homes and wounded service members. Riders in all states escort military units returning home from combat tours and conduct massive cross-country fundraising events for wounded warriors. 4th District riders help out regional veterans and their families through fund-raising events and like to have fun while giving a helping hand.
