Sheridan Bluegrass Fever

Do you love bluegrass music? Mark your calendars now for a grand show on the hillside lawn terrace of Sheridan’s Veterans Park. On Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 1, 2015, the community of Sheridan will become the bluegrass capital of central Indiana. Those are the dates of the annual Sheridan Bluegrass Fever event taking place in Veterans Park in uptown Sheridan.

Performers for Friday night’s event include Jeremy Morris & the Harvest Road Band, Cumberland Gap and the Circle City Bluegrass Band. Saturday will feature blue town, The Boxcars, The Farmhands, the Coon Holler Kids, and Jeremy Morris & the Harvest Road Band.

According to Robin Morris, who recruited the bands for the Sheridan BlueGrass Fever Planning Committee, "The variety of musicians will give audiences a package of sounds they look for in popular, quality festivals around Indiana. We assemble rising stars, emerging talents and broad musical appeal to respond to what those attending bluegrass events say they like to see.”

The Friday night events begin with a full line-up of performances, beginning at 6:00 pm. On Saturday, the morning begins with bluegrass music workshops for pickers of all ages which will be followed by a KIDS BLUEGRASS CONTEST with the Thorntown Bluegrass Jammers. Saturday afternoon and evening is filled with more live performances by the bands and groups mentioned above.

Bluegrass aficionados are invited to bring their favorite lawn chairs and sit in beautiful Veterans Park beneath the shade trees to enjoy the bands up on the performance stage. Food vendors will be available to provide good eats and lots of sweet treats. This is good foot-tapping entertainment for family and friends alike. If you like live bluegrass music, it does not get any better than this!

Friday admission to this event is $10 (seniors 55+ $1 off), Saturday admission is $15, or admission for both days is $20. Children 12 and under are admitted free if accompanied by an adult. For folks traveling a great distance, camping and hotel facilities are available at reasonable cost within a short drive of Sheridan.
