Fighter Jet will be repainted and moved to new location this summer

The F-84F Thunderstreak fighter jet at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum will be detached from its pedestal on Wednesday morning, June 10 at approximately 11:00 a.m. (weather permitting). The 20,000 lb. airplane will be moved by a crane to a flatbed trailer where it will reside for the summer while it is repainted. Following its restoration, it will be placed back on a pedestal in its new location at the front of Veteran’s Plaza. The new Veteran’s Plaza is located in front of Memorial Hall at the northwest point of the building at the corner of Parnell Avenue and Coliseum Boulevard. The plaza will serve as the central location for all of the outdoor memorials at the Memorial Coliseum.
