JACKSON STORYFEST AT THE ELLA
Thursday, April 30
10 a.m.-noon Silver Tales Performance- Stories for Seniors the Young at Heart feat. Laura Pershin Raynor. As a fourth generation storyteller Raynor has been telling tales of secret messages, delicious recipes gone wrong and outrageous tricksters for the past thirty years. Raynor will perform at the Ella on Thursday, April 30. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

FRIENDS LUNCHEON
Monday, May 11
noon-2 p.m. The program for the Friends of the Ella Sharp Museum will feature Sparry Sparks. Sparry will show a DVD, recently produced by Randy Lee, on the creation of the Cascades by Sparry’s grandfather William Sparks. This very special, full color DVD also has information on the Sparks family, Jackson’s history, the Jackson Zouaves, and other fascinating information. The program will last about fifty minutes and will start promptly at 12:45 p.m. Please make your reservation by Friday, May 8 at noon.

"…the 19th Annual Michigan Museums Conference was held at the Ella Sharp Museum on June 21-23, 1971. The topics of discussion included the role of volunteers in the museum, historic preservation, interpreting the space program for the public and exhibition techniques in the museum."

CELL BLOCK 7 PRISON MUSEUM
Extended hours begin Wednesday, April 29! The museum will be open Wednesday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Ella Sharp Museum has partnered with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) and has opened a prison museum in Cell Block 7 of the State Prison of Southern Michigan. $15 – Adults $8 – Children 5-12 FREE – Children 5 under $10 – Senior Citizens, Military personnel, Ella Sharp Museum members Michigan Dept of Corrections Employees
