This November, Turnstone is encouraging community members to support one another during a 30-day challenge titled “Together with Turnstone”. Each day throughout the month, Turnstone will issue a new challenge via email and social media to give participants an opportunity to care for their community in a safe and simple way.

“Together with Turnstone” is intended to promote the shared value of loving our community leading up to #GivingTuesday on December 1. This community challenge was designed to allow participants of every age and background the ability to connect with their community as we all look for joy and navigate an unpredictable holiday season.

“COVID-19 has left everyone feeling more isolated than ever, and being able to find even the smallest ways to support and uplift one another is what we all need,” says Rena Shown, Turnstone’s Chief Development Officer. “At Turnstone, we know we are better together and we want our community and Turnstone Family to know that we wouldn’t be here without them.”

Challenges in November will range from disability awareness prompts to engage with local organizations that enhance our local community through their support of an inclusive community. Some of the “Together with Turnstone” challenges also include braving the fall weather to explore our local parks, grabbing carryout from a local restaurant, or driving through this year’s Fantasy of Lights.

“Together with Turnstone” was created to encourage the Fort Wayne community members to continue supporting one another by looking for and demonstrating compassion and lifting others up. 2020 has presented a year of challenges no one anticipated and Turnstone wants to remind everyone that we are all in this together—we always have been and we always will be.
