With everyday life becoming more and more serious, The Literacy Alliance had to find a new way to bring some laughter to our community and raise money to support the educational journey of our adult learners in Allen, Adams and Wells Counties.
Due to the uncertainties surrounding large gatherings this year, The Literacy Alliance is now on the hunt for the Funniest in the Fort.
Funniest in the Fort is a contest to find the best joke teller in Fort Wayne. This online fundraiser will pit local celebrities and business leaders in a jovial joust to determine the Funniest in the Fort!
Beginning September 11, 2020, the public will be invited to watch these jesters online and vote (early and often) with their dollars for their favorite. All donations will go to support the The Literacy Alliance’s mission of empowering adults to succeed at work, at home and in the community.
The voting period for this convivial competition will commence on September 11, 2020 and will be open through September 18, 2020 at www.literacyalliance.org/funniest.
Our jovial jousters include:
Mayor Tom Henry – City of Fort Wayne
John Sampson – Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership
Gary Shearer – Physicians Health Plan (PHP)
Mike Nutter – Fort Wayne TinCaps
Thad Tegtmeyer – Sweetwater Sound
Ben Reynolds – Broken Pencil Improv
Demetrius Warren – STAR Financial
Team TLA – The Literacy Alliance
…and maybe a couple of surprise guests!
