Turnstone & YMCA Host First Sports & Recreation Camp for All Abilities in Northeast Indiana

Turnstone and the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne are launching their first jointly-hosted inclusive event, opening registration for the All Abilities Camp which will feature various sports experiences, as well as other recreational activities.

The All Abilities Camp represents the first joint project between Turnstone and the YMCA that aligns with their newly announced collaboration. The organizations have committed to partnering together with the goal of increasing access to adaptive and inclusive sport opportunities for youth and adults in Fort Wayne and surrounding communities.

Campers will experience floor hockey and basketball, nerf guns and crafts, dance and yoga, track & field and cycling, corn hole and boccia, among other activities. On the final day of camp, participants will travel to the World Baseball Academy and learn baseball skills as well. The variety in activity offers something for everyone.

The camp will take place at Turnstone on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning July 7 until July 23, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Registration is just $30, and allows the camper access to the full camp experience. Limited spots are available. Best practice precautions and policies will be in place during the camp to mitigate exposure to COVID-19.

Every person between the ages 8-18 with and without a disability (physical, visual, developmental, etc.) is invited to participate in sports and recreation activities at the inclusive camp. All experience and activity levels are welcome. This camp is specifically available for those with physical, visual, developmental and intellectual disabilities however we encourage participants to invite a friend or sibling with or without disabilities.

Those interested in All Abilities Camp are asked to register prior to June 19th at turnstone.org/all-abilities-camp
