Local Muralist Theoplis Smith III, Aka Phresh Laundry, To Install A Mural In Downtown Fort Wayne

Art This Way and Downtown Improvement District are pleased to announce that local muralist Theoplis Smith III, known as Phresh Laundry, will install a mural in Downtown Fort Wayne!

Theoplis Smith III has painted four other public projects in our city. Smith painted the ‘Better Together’ mural, a collaborative project with muralist Matt Plett. Smith painted the fox mural on the side of The Friendly Fox. Smith collaborated with Terry Ratliff and Alexandra Hall on the mural panels installed in the first phase of the Art This Way Alley Activation Project. Smith has also painted a mural on the side of Wunderkammer Company.

Smith will paint a mural on the side of the former Utopian Coffee building, 222 Pearl Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802. There are seven loading bays and Smith will paint one of the seven, cinderblock bays. His design will not be released to the public. Installation is scheduled for late June 2020. Art This Way is a program of the Fort Wayne Downtown Economic Improvement District. The overarching goal of the Art This Way program is to activate public spaces, beautify Downtown, encourage economic development, and improve the pedestrian experience in Downtown Fort Wayne, IN. Art This Way program has installed ten projects within the 99 blocks of Downtown Fort Wayne. In 2020 the program will install another nine projects!
