Bowl for Kids Sake

Big Brothers Big Sisters’ annual fundraiser, Bowl for Kids’ Sake, is preparing to kick off. On Thursday, March 5th at Thunder Bowl #1, Big Brothers Big Sisters will be joined by none other than Mayor Tom Henry for the first rollout of the 2020 Bowl for Kids’ Sake season. This celebration will also feature some incredible guests from our list of supporters. This party takes place from 6pm-8pm!

Each year, thousands of people across Northeast Indiana come together to support Big Brothers Big Sisters in its mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. This year’s goal is to raise enough money to create and support 250 new matches during the 2020 calendar year, roughly $250,000.

The concept is simple. “Team Captains” register online and get four other friends, family members, or co-workers to form a team consisting of five total members. The Team Captain will to reserve their preferred date/time to bowl, encourage team members to raise pledges, and then show up on the bowling date chosen to celebrate and enjoy two hours of bowling with rentals, concessions, and the chance to win some amazing door prizes – all free! Each team member is encouraged to raise at least $100 in pledges, and incentive prizes are given to those who raise more. This year is disco themed, the best dressed teams at each session will receive exclusive bonus prizes!

Prizes vary by how much is raised! Some examples include: T-Shirts, Baseball Caps, On the Go Totes, BlueTooth Speakers, H2Go Bottles, and Tailgate Chairs with cases!

Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated.
