Fort Wayne Dance Collective (FWDC) will present Collective Expressions, a contemporary dance show performed by FWDC’s Touring Company at Williams Theatre Purdue University Fort Wayne, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne, 46805. Doors will open a half hour prior to show with curtain time at 7:30pm on Saturday, August 3rd and 2:30pm on Sunday, August 4th.

Collective Expressions is an annual showcase featuring original works by Fort Wayne’s most compelling choreographic voices. Members of the Fort Wayne Dance Collective’s Touring Company, directed by Mandie Kolkman, will use their artistic expression to create moving works that will explore the struggles and joys of being human. Expect to see athleticism, grace, storytelling, and a “wow factor” in performance art.

Performance pieces will also feature dancers from the FWDC Pineapple Dance Project under the direction of FWDC artistic staff, Ashley Benninghoff. The Pineapple Dance Project is a youth group of movement artists that explore choreography in an inviting, educational setting. Pineapple Dance Project acts as a pre-professional company that feeds into the FWDC Touring Company.

The Touring Company performs several times throughout the year for private bookings, public community events, and FWDC programs such as the Indiana Dance Festival. The company collaborates with other artists in Fort Wayne including lighting designer, Luke Holliger.

The Fort Wayne Dance Collective is a non-profit arts organization located in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. In the 2018/2019 academic year, FWDC served over 41,000 people throughout Northeast Indiana and has provided scholarships, work-study opportunities, community programming, classes and performances to this region for the past 40 years. FWDC serves thousands of individuals in schools, sites serving people with disabilities, community centers and social service agencies, as well as, through the Healing Arts Program in partnership with Parkview Health System.
