Allen Co. SPCA Offering Adoption Special Ahead Of Subaru To The Rescue

If you’ve been thinking of adopting a new four-legged family member, there’s never been a better time! Now through Friday, May 31, 2019, the Allen County SPCA is offering a “Wheel of Furtune” adoption special on all currently adoptable pets.

In an effort to send as many pets to their forever homes as possible this week, all adopters will have a chance to spin the “Wheel of Furtune” at the time of adoption. Prizes on the wheel include anything from a free t-shirt to goodies for your pet to a discounted or completely free adoption.

The adoption special comes ahead of the arrival of over 50 adoptable dogs thanks to Subaru to the Rescue, a lifesaving effort by the Allen County SPCA and Bob Rohrman Subaru of Fort Wayne. As we speak, a caravan of 15 Subarus and nearly two dozen volunteers are en route to Conroe, TX, just outside of Houston, to save the lives of adoptable dogs from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Bob Rohrman Subaru of Fort Wayne to save the lives of so many pets from an area of the country with such a tremendous pet overpopulation issue. But in order to do that, we have to make room here at the shelter. We have so many amazing pets ready for adoption, but we need the community’s help to get them home ahead of this transport,” says Jessica Henry, Executive Director of the Allen County SPCA.

Pets from the Subaru to the Rescue transport will arrive in Fort Wayne late Friday evening and will be up for adoption on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 12pm to 4pm at Bob Rohrman Subaru of Fort Wayne. The media is invited to attend (photo opportunities available). Due to this event, the Allen County SPCA (4914 S. Hanna St. 46806) will be closed on Saturday.

Profiles of pets arriving on the transport and more information about Subaru to the Rescue can be found at www.subarutotherescue.org. Individuals interested in adopting a pet from the Subaru to the Rescue transport are highly encouraged to submit an application ahead of the event in order to be pre-approved and placed on first come, first served list for the pet of their choosing. Pre-payment is required, and the Wheel of Furtune promotion is NOT valid on these adoptions.

Potential Wheel of Furtune adopters can visit the shelter during regular business hours from 11am to 6pm on Thursday and Friday. To view our currently adoptable pets or learn more about the Allen County SPCA, visit www.allencountyspca.org.
