The Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink will close for the season, after the completion of our 16th season, at 8 PM on Sunday March 3.
Geoff Paddock, Executive Director of the Headwaters Park Alliance, will present a gift to a lucky skater tomorrow at 2:30 PM at the rink, which is located under the Lincoln Financial Pavilion in Headwaters Park. The rink has seen an unprecedented number of skaters this season. The record breaking number of skaters for this season, and the cumulative number of skaters over the 16 season of operation, will be announced at 2:30.
“We appreciate the tens of thousands of skaters who came out again this season. While we have to close the rink and prepare Headwaters Park for its 23rd festival season beginning in April, we will reopen the rink for season number 17 on Saturday November 16,” Paddock said.
Season sponsors Lincoln Financial Group, Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, Parkview Health, the Auer Foundation, and PNC Trusts, have helped again with financial contributions this season. Those gifts have allowed the Headwaters Park Alliance to keep rates low again this year.
