Artlink Introduces New Education Series To Provide Emerging Artists With The Resources They Need To Succeed

For students pursuing a degree in the arts, the primary focus is on developing technique by making artwork. Topics like how to work with a gallery or start a business are often left out of the conversation. This leaves emerging artists without the knowledge of how to have a successful career in the arts post-graduation. With a number of major university art programs located in the region, Northeast Indiana has a large population of emerging artists with few programs to support continuing education.

In February, Artlink launched a new Education Series to empower emerging artists in Northeast Indiana to build sustainable creative careers. This innovative and affordable monthly series of speakers and workshops will cover important topics such as health and wellness, business and marketing, presentation and portfolio development. Through this series, Artlink hopes to provide artists with the skills and resources necessary to succeed in their creative endeavors. Artlink will offer a class the third Thursday of each month at 7pm with the location varying month-to-month based on the class. For members of the organization, the program will be free. For those not members of Artlink, the program at only $5 per class provides an incredible opportunity for individuals in all stages of their artistic career to tap into these one-of-a-kind classes. Artlink’s second class in the series on Thursday, March 21st, in collaboration with BFA Commercial Photography, “How to photograph your work,” has already sold out. Artists can find more information on Artlink’s website at artlinkfw.com/events about upcoming classes in the Education Series.
