Cabin Fever Coneys Opens Dec. 3

Local coney hot dog lovers soon will have another option with the December 3 opening of Cabin Fever Coneys. The new drive-through and walk-up, fast-food restaurant will be located in a little log cabin at 930 Goshen Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46808, a major north-south throughway on the city’s northwest side. The new restaurant is the inspiration of the mother-daughter entrepreneurial team of Linda Neuhaus, who has a background in food service, and Kristy Campbell, who is a real estate agent.

Neuhaus and Campbell are excited to bring their new restaurant to northwest Fort Wayne. “We serve an area that does not have a coney presence, and our vision is a place that is homey for everyone to visit and enjoy,” said Campbell. In addition to coney hot dogs featuring Neuhaus’s own secret coney sauce, Cabin Fever Coneys also will offer bratwurst, sloppy joes and pulled-pork sandwiches, chili soup and chili casserole, French fries and chips, along with hot and cold beverages. A unique offering will be a veggie dog for vegetarian customers. Restaurant patrons can top off their meal with soft-serve ice cream for dessert.

Winter hours for Cabin Fever Coneys will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with expanded summer hours, including Sundays, instituted next spring. The restaurant will have four employees serving as cashiers, cooks, and food preparers. Depending on its initial success, a second Fort Wayne location of Cabin Fever Coneys may be opened in the future, according to the owners.
