Towne House Retirement Recognized

The Towne House Retirement Community’s Health Center received a Five Star Rating – the highest rating possible – in all four categories tracked by Medicare.gov, the official U.S. Government Site for Medicare, in its most recent “Nursing Home Compare” survey of Fort Wayne area nursing homes.

The Towne House is the only senior living community in the Fort Wayne area to receive Five Stars in all categories, which include Overall Rating, Health Inspections, Staffing, and Quality Measures.

“I’m so proud of each and every one of our staff members for their hard work and dedication,” said Amy Scheffer, Towne House Executive Director. “We strive every day to make a difference in the lives of our residents, and to be recognized for our efforts in this way is extremely gratifying.”

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services developed “Nursing Home Compare” and the Star Rating Systems to provide consumers with an easy way to search for nursing homes that provide the quality of care they desire, according to the Medicare.com website. The site goes on to say that the “Nursing Home Compare” data is provided as a service to the public and comes from three key resources: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) health inspection database, the Minimum Data Set (a national database of resident clinical data), and Medicare claims data.

Owned by BHI Senior Living, Inc., The Towne House is a non-profit Life Plan Community and the only nationally accredited senior living community in Fort Wayne.
