AWS Foundation Awards $1,318,600 In Grants

The AWS Foundation recently awarded $1,318,600 million in grants to 19 non-profit organizations that benefit individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities in Northeast Indiana. These organizations include:

Blue Jacket: $100,000 over two years for the Opportunity Career Academy and staff support.
Camp Millhouse: $30,000 for low ropes course improvements and an accessible glider.
Camp Red Cedar: $30,000 for programming and camp scholarships.
Canine Companions: $10,000 for Northeast Indiana program support.
Carey Services: $85,000 for information technology infrastructure and security upgrade.
Children’s Autism Center: $20,000 for ABA treatment support for children with Autism.
Children’s Choir of Huntington County: $10,000 for the Joyful Songsters inclusive choir.
Civic Theatre: $22,500 for “Lights Up” sensory-friendly performances.
Community Transportation Network: $75,000 for operating support and two lift-equipped vehicle purchase matches.
GiveHear: $25,000 for a low income community hearing loss clinic and services.
Greater Fort Wayne, Inc.: $7,600 for Leadership Fort Wayne scholarships for two individuals with disabilities.
Junior Achievement of Northeast Indiana: $440,000 for Casting the JA Vision and special education programming.
Neighborlink Fort Wayne: $35,000 for home maintenance for individuals with disabilities.
Northeast Indiana Cadre of Transition Leaders: $8,000 for Northeast Indiana school districts’ employment specialist training.
Pathfinder Services: $25,000 for Summer at Last summer camp.
Science Central: $30,000 for an accessible family restroom.
Special Olympics Indiana: $25,000 for unified fitness clubs in Northeast Indiana.
Turnstone: $90,500 for social and recreational programs.
World Baseball Academy: $250,000 for Indiana’s first adaptive baseball field.
