Mathew 25 Clinic Receives $950 Grant From The HEAL Initiative

Matthew 25 received a $950 grant from the HEAL Initiative. This program is partially supported by a grant from the HEAL Initiative, which is cosponsored by Parkview Health and St. Joseph Community Health Foundation.

Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic is a nonprofit organization providing free medical, dental, vision, hearing, prescription, wellness education, and patient advocacy services to low-income, uninsured adult residents of 15 surrounding counties in the Fort Wayne area. Mathew 25 has been serving the community since 1976.

“The HEAL program is an invitation to better living. Participants create healthy foods together and learn enjoyable ways to add fresh fruits and vegetables to affordable meals. Almost all of the chronic diseases treated at Matthew 25 improve with healthier eating and living. Patients discover that they have more energy and less pain while lowering risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes complications. Best of all, these new habits are sustained after the end of the program and often shared with family and other community members,” said Dr. Bradley Isbister, medical director at Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic.

Our HEALing Kitchen grant, which consists of $950, has been awarded to the Mathew 25 Health and Dental Clinic. This grant will be used to teach cooking techniques, how to prepare healthy recipes, as well as to educate the impact of healthy eating on a person’s well-being and overall health.

Matthew 25 is accepting donations to continue our mission. For more information on Matthew 25 or how you can support its community efforts, please visit http://www.matthew25online.org/ or call Ermina Mustedanagic at 260-469-0467.
