A Mother’s Hope Awarded $20,000 Grant For Counseling

January 12, 2018 Fort Wayne based not-for-profit, A Mother’s Hope, announced that the agency was recently awarded a grant from the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation for $20,000. This financial gift will help to fund individual and group therapy to the residents who stay at A Mother’s Hope.

Homeless, pregnant mothers will come to A Mother’s Hope looking for a place to meet their physical needs of safety, food and shelter. However, the agency recognizes that lasting change requires more. Executive director, Stasia Roth, stated, “We recognize that each resident will be unique in her life experiences and circumstances that led her to become homeless.” She continued, “That’s why our partnership with Headwaters Counseling is so important because, the individual and group therapy allows each resident to assess the choices and circumstances that led to her homelessness.”

The agency acknowledges the generosity of St. Joseph Community Health Foundation. Roth expressed her gratitude, “We believe this collaboration with Headwaters Counseling furthers the mission of the Foundation by enabling us to provide excellent mental health care to any woman who stays at the house. Providing excellent care to our residents will support them as mothers to their children. Because of the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation grant, more moms will be better equipped to strive for their own individual versions of success.”
