Heartland Sings is proud to partner with the IPFW Department of Music, and the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir to present the fifth annual Three Rivers Choral Festival.
The festival is for young singers in high school in Northeast Indiana and provides a unique opportunity for area vocal students to work with professional vocalists and nationally recognized choral clinicians. This event brings students from across Northeast Indiana together to participate in something bigger than what any of them could do on their own.
This year Dr. Marc Hafso, director of choral and vocal activities, professor of music and director of the Whitworth University Choir in Spokane, Washington will be the guest clinician. Active as a guest conductor, soloist, clinician and adjudicator, Dr. Hafso is also a composer with compositions published by Colla Voce, of Indianapolis.
The high school choirs from Bluffton, Concordia Lutheran, New Haven, and North Side are participating with the Youth Chorale from the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir and the IPFW University Singers. With over 300 singers on stage, the festival culminates in a mass choir performance titled “Peace” at Auer Performance Hall, on the IPFW campus, on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7:00pm.
