New Shipshewana “Across The Road” Indoor Market Offers Unique Shopping During Off-Season

Shipshewana Flea Market is heading “Across the Road” and opening a new indoor market for the fall / winter season.

“We’re always getting requests for additional post-flea market season shopping and selling opportunities,” said Michael Christner, Shipshewana Across the Road director. “We’ve got a great facility for it, and great vendors, so we decided to make it happen this fall and winter.”

Shipshewana Across the Road will be held inside the Farmstead Expo Barn, just across the street from the Auction and Flea Market grounds. The market is scheduled to be open to the public every Friday and Saturday from October 6 to December 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We decided to have it at the Farmstead Expo Barn because it is a large, climate-controlled facility that is already set up to host markets, due to the fact that it used to house an antique mall,” said Christner.

The facility can hold around 80 vendors, and they are expecting to have about 50 to 60 unique booths at Shipshewana Across the Road this season. Shoppers can expect to see a small-scale indoor version of the Shipshewana Flea Market where they will find unique gift items, a selection of local crafts, and a variety of other goods.

“The new market will give people even more of a reason to visit Shipshewana for Christmas and holiday shopping.”

There is no admission fee to Shipshewana Across the Road, and parking is free.
