Hoops & Heels- An Inspiring Women’s Night

The Fort Wayne Mad Ant, in partnership with the Better Business Bureau are happy to announce that former Indiana Fever star and 4-Time Olympic Gold Medalist, Tamika Catchings will be the key note speaker at the first annual “Hoops & Heels: An Inspiring Women’s Night” event.

“In America, we are blessed to have wonderful women in leadership roles and Tamika is a prime example of that.” said Tim Bawmann team President. “We live in a world where anything is possible for anyone and that’s how I have raised my daughter, to lead.”

Hoops & Heels: An Inspiring Women will feature networking, a dinner and local vendors as guests hear about the trials and tribulations Catchings has faced throughout her life and career in basketball.

Catchings has been a staple of women’s basketball not only in the state of Indiana but nationwide for nearly 20 years. A full career playing at University of Tennessee and playing her entire 15-year WNBA career with the Indiana Fever, along with her Olympic success is just the tip of the iceberg for Catchings.

An off the court humanitarian, Catchings is the founder of Catch the Stars Foundation, which strives to help youth achieve their goals through literacy, fitness, and mentoring.

Marjorie Stephens of Better Business Bureau and Christa Miller of Dress for Success, will also be speaking to the group on the importance of women empowering other women and working together in the workplace.

Tickets for Hoops & Heels are $30; the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. prior to the Mad Ants game vs. the Rio Grande Velley Vipers on Friday, February 24th.

A limited number of Halftime Meet and Greet Packages with Catching are also available. Tickets, along with meet and greet packages can be purchased by visiting ftwaynemadants.com/hoopsandheels or by calling 260-222-7949.
