Byron Health Center CEO Chosen As One of 2017 LeadingAge Leadership Academy Fellows

Byron Health Center announces the selection of CEO Deb Lambert by LeadingAge as one of its Leadership Academy Fellows for 2017. This group of Fellows will meet throughout the year to explore diverse perspectives from aging services leaders, learn from innovative care and service models; enhance their leadership skills and core competencies; and advance person-centered programming in aging services.

The Leadership Academy is a year-long leadership development program for not-for-profit leaders within the LeadingAge membership. The Academy’s graduate-level curriculum provides a rich learning experience through multiple program components, including exposure to: 1) A foundation of leadership knowledge that Fellows can draw from to enhance their own leadership skills and core competencies. 2) Innovative organizations and the people responsible for transforming care and service delivery in our field. 3) Diverse perspectives from seasoned leaders and colleagues in the field to foster a deeper understanding of issues facing aging services providers.

An important aspect of the curriculum is to influence change and help advance innovative programs and practices through Action Learning Projects, where Fellows learn through hands-on, practical experiences by implementing a program or practice within their organization. In addition, the program helps to build a lifelong network of peers, dedicated to continuing the Academy experience through shared learning, fellowship and service opportunities.

A true visionary, Lambert is driving change in the long term care industry by focusing on ability rather than disability and wellness rather than illness. Under her leadership, Byron Health Center is visibly raising the bar for what it means to be a long term health care facility by serving truly underserved populations, especially those with a dual diagnosis. With a heart of gold and a passion for life and leading by example, Lambert’s torch is passed to all those who are blessed to be in the path of this extraordinary leader.

LeadingAge Indiana is an association representing not-for-profit services and facilities for the elderly.
