Start Fort Wayne Names New Board Member

Local non-profit Start Fort Wayne has named a new member to its board of directors: Crystal Vann Wallstrom.

Vann Wallstrom is the new director of the Center for Creative Collaboration (C3) at Indiana Tech. Mark Richter, who had been the C3’s director since its inception and a founding member of the Start Fort Wayne board of directors, retired from both positions in August.

Vann Wallstrom is an entrepreneur, eternal optimist, and avid connector. After 15 years in San Francisco, Vann Wallstrom, her husband, and now 3-year-old twins moved to Fort Wayne in June 2015 to start a new adventure.

She brings her years of experience in project management, business and brand strategy, marketing, event planning, and operations to Fort Wayne, Indiana—the new home that has captured her heart. She is passionate about making Fort Wayne and the region the best it can be.

“I met Start Fort Wayne President Dave Sanders at the first One Million Cups Fort Wayne and immediately knew I wanted to be involved with anything he was working on,” Vann Wallstrom said.

“As the new director of the Center for Creative Collaboration at Indiana Tech, I’m thrilled to join Start Fort Wayne’s board and fill Mark’s seat and his position as Secretary of the board. We have been collaborating since we met and now I get to work with him professionally and leverage the university’s resources as well. It’s a win-win.”

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the Northeastern State University and a Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco.
