Volunteers Pack Food For The Hungry In The Philippines

Volunteers from age 4 to 104 will gather to pack 100,000 meals for children suffering from hunger and malnutrition in the Philippines. The local Kids Against Hunger satellite will host the event on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Expo Center, 4000 Parnell Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The Kids Against Hunger satellite is seeking volunteers to help pack these meals.

Kids Against Hunger – Fort Wayne is a non-profit humanitarian food aid organization with the mission to show God’s love by providing meals for hungry and starving children. The approach is simple: volunteers hand pack meals specially formulated for malnourished children. The food packets are distributed through partners running orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs around the world. The food packed on September 17 will be shipped to the Philippines.

The event is a family friendly event. Donations to cover the cost of the food are appreciated, but not required to come help. You can register for the event at www.kah-fortwayne.org. Preregistration is required and the deadline is September 5.

Jana Thompson, Executive Director, says “There are few opportunities like this to make a significant difference in the world. The two hours you spend packing can literally be the difference between life and death for the starving and malnourished children in our world.”

Kids Against Hunger – Fort Wayne has been packaging food for the hungry since 2012. To learn more about Kids Against Hunger visit www.kah-fortwayne.org or call us at (260) 471-8852.
