The new Warsaw branch office of the Ft. Wayne Chapter of SCORE recently conducted its grand opening on August 9th at the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce. The grand opening was held in conjunction with a two hour SCORE sponsored workshop entitled “How to Start Your Own Business.” The free workshop was presented by members of the Ft. Wayne Chapter and was attended by 18 area entrepreneurs seeking guidance and information related to starting and sustaining a new business. Specific subjects discussed in the workshop were selecting the right legal structure for your organization, writing and executing a solid business plan, forecasting and maintaining a positive cash flow, and the process of obtaining financing.

SCORE is a volunteer mentoring group of retired and working business professionals. The Warsaw office is currently staffed by ten certified mentors from a variety of business backgrounds, industries, and areas of expertise. The SCORE mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education and SCORE strives to ensure that every person has the support necessary to thrive as a small business owner.

The Fort Wayne Chapter of SCORE, along with its Warsaw Branch, is seeking to assist entrepreneurs and small business owners in starting up and growing existing businesses in the nine counties making up North East Indiana. SCORE’s mentoring services are completely free to the public.
