State Wars Roller Hockey Championships Brings 10,000 Visitors To Fort Wayne

The State Wars United States Roller Hockey Championships will return to Fort Wayne at the SportONE Parkview Icehouse from July 27 to August 7.

The 12-day tournament expects to bring in more than 10,000 players, parents and tournament officials, including 274 teams (six from Indiana) with 3,000 participants. This large sporting event will generate nearly $3 million dollars in direct economic impact.

"We are thrilled to welcome State Wars back to Fort Wayne," said Visit Fort Wayne Group Sales Manager of Sports Stephanie Coleman. "It’s an incredible sporting event for our community and is Fort Wayne’s largest sporting event of the year. These players will not only compete in Fort Wayne, but their families will get the opportunity to explore our city. Expect to see hockey jerseys at our attractions, restaurants and retail stores over the next two weeks."

Tournament action starts on Wednesday, July 27, with the first puck dropping at 10:20 a.m. Admission is free to the public and a full schedule of games can be found here.
