Please join us for our Alpha-1 Support Group meeting on Tuesday July 19, 2016. The meeting starts at 6:00 pm in Meeting Room CC1602 at the Ivy Tech Coliseum Campus located at 3800 N. Anthony Blvd. Fort Wayne IN 46805. Please use IVY Tech Entrance Doors 1 & 2.

This group provides an opportunity for those of us affected by Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency to come together for mutual support and learning. Support group meetings are open to patients, friends, family members and caregivers. There is no cost to attend.

Our guest speaker is Mike Hixon. Mike is an AlphaNet Coordinator and will share his Alpha-1 story and also explain “What is AlphaNet”.

Mike is from Terre Haute, Indiana where he resides with his wife, Vicky. Mike was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency through family testing. In 1995. His younger brother was diagnosed at the age of 40 as a ZZ Alpha. Unfortunately, his brother’s condition worsened and he passed away in 2002. Mike was promptly tested and also found to be a ZZ.
