Brightpoint announces Our HEALing Kitchen, a course of eight cooking and nutrition classes for the residents of the Waynedale area. The purpose of the program is to teach the importance of a healthy diet. Residents that attend will learn cooking skills, earn coupons for fresh vegetables and fruit, learn to freeze produce and how to make smoothies, and to turn old comfort foods into modern, healthy dishes.
Classes will take place on the second Friday of the month starting July 8 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Hopewell Pointe Kitchen. There are only 12 spots open for the class, so those that are interested must register prior to July 5. Please call 260-449-9860 to sign up.
Participants that attend six of the eight classes will receive a workbook, printed recipe cards, online access to nutritional resources and recipes, and coupons to use at the HEAL farmers markets. This program is supported by a grant from the HEAL initiative co-sponsored by Parkview Health and St. Joseph Community Health Foundation.
