IPFW Women’s Cross Country Adds Two More

IPFW women’s cross country head coach Mike Fruchey has announced the signing of two high school senior student-athletes Morgan Blyly (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge H.S.) and Danielle Frank (Granger, Ind./Penn H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Mastodons starting with the 2016 season.

Blyly was a four-time All-Northern Lakes Conference (NLC) member while at Northridge. She was named athlete of the month in the NLC twice in cross country and in track and field two separate years. She was also a part of the National Honors Society for two years while at Northridge.

"I was really happy when Morgan showed interest in our program," Fruchey said. "She has had a tremendous senior year. In the fall, Morgan was the number one runner for state-ranked Northridge. She ran a lifetime personal best of 18:53 in the fall cross country season and finished with her highest state meet performance. She has also performed very well in the indoor and outdoor high school track and field season."

Frank was named first-team All-Northern Indiana Conference (NIC) in cross country in 2013 and 2014, and second-team in 2015. She was the NIC MVP in cross country in 2013. She was an Academic Letterman all four years at Penn. She was also first-team All-NIC in the two-mile in track and field in 2014.

"I am glad to add Danielle to our program," Fruchey said. "She has great potential to impact our team scoring and was highly recommended by her high school coach. Danielle comes from a great running program at Penn High School. She will add depth to our team."

"In addition to being successful runners, both Morgan and Danielle bring great leadership qualities to our team," Fruchey said. "They really complete our recruiting class in a great way and I am really excited to coach them."
