USF Launching New Computer Science Degrees

Three new Computer Science undergraduate programs are launching in fall 2016 at the University of Saint Francis. Students can enroll now in four-year programs in Game and Application Development, Cyber Security and Computer Information Systems.

In conjunction with these new programs, USF is connecting with several local businesses that will offer hands-on learning opportunities to Computer Science students. One of these businesses is Aptera Software, Inc., which hosted the April 11 news conference announcing the computer science programs offered at the University of Saint Francis.

“A crucial element to these programs will be the opportunity for students to receive professional mentorship along the way,” said Dr. Andrew Prall, USF Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Through both internships and a partnership with USF’s Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership, students will be able to learn best practices from experts currently in the corporate world.”

“Employers look to us for quality graduates,” said USF President Sister M. Elise Kriss, OSF. “These programs strengthen our commitment to STEM education as we continue to produce the talent needed by so many community businesses and organizations. As we graduate students from these three degree programs, we will see USF alumni solving the technology needs of major employers in our region.”

Merit scholarships are also available for most USF students. For more information about these programs and to apply, visit admissions.sf.edu.
