Three Rivers Music Theatre

Three Rivers Music Theatre™ is thrilled to present their inaugural production, and Fort Wayne’s premiere, of the Tony Award-winning composure Jason Robert Brown’s powerful and intimate musical, The Last Five Years opening Friday, April 1, and running through Sunday, April10. Starring Jessica Butler (Gypsy, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chicago, Lombard at Fort Wayne Civic Theatre; Nunsense at First Presbyterian Theatre; and The Apple Tree at Arena Dinner Theatre) and Billy Dawson (Holiday Pops with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic; Wozzeck with Sir David McVicar and Tosca at Lyric Opera of Chicago; The Fantasticks, The Merry Widow, Damn Yankees, and Fiddler on the Roof at Light Opera Works.)

The Last Five Years tells the powerful story of Cathy and Jamie, two twenty-something New Yorkers who dive headfirst into a marriage fueled by the optimism that comes from finding “the one.” But, in a city where professional and personal passions collide and only the strongest relationships survive, navigating the waters of love and matrimony can sometimes prove to be too much. Sung from their individual points of view, Cathy’s journey is told from the end of the relationship to the beginning while Jamie’s from the beginning to the end. Funny, honest, intimate, The Last Five Years has an exuberantly romantic score that takes a bold look at one young couple’s hope that love endures the test of time.

The Last Five Years is directed by Andy Planck, with musical direction by Tom Saul, set design by Robert Shoquist, lighting design by Therrin Eber and costumes by Jeanne Pendleton.

Performance will be held April 1, 2, 8, 9 at 8:00 p.m. and April 2, 3, 9, 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parkview Physicians Group Arts Lab at the Auer Center for Arts & Culture located at 300 East Main Street in downtown Fort Wayne.
