HU Receives Monsanto Donation

Huntington University’s Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies has received a $2,500 donation from America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. The donation was directed to HU by local Wabash county farmer Daniel Bowman.

“We are very appreciative that Monsanto and Dan Bowman have chosen to support the Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies at Huntington University,” said Mark Schenkel, director of community relations/major gifts officer. “Monsanto’s ‘America’s Farmers Grow Communities’ program is a great example of how corporations and individuals work together to positively impact the communities they serve.”

Launched in the fall of 2014, the Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies at Huntington University promotes a Christian perspective on agriculture, which recognizes a responsibility to be good stewards of God’s creation and to examine questions of sustainability and justice. The program is intended to meet the growing need for agribusiness innovation and entrepreneurship, communication and public policy, crop production, agricultural education and ministry and missions.
