Ossian entrepreneur Mindy (Smith) Thomas, a client of the Northeast ISBDC, has launched Media Services Unlimited (MSU) to offer a variety of creative services to small business owners and not-for-profit organizations that cannot afford their own in-house marketing staff. She has worked in the field of marketing, communications and creative services for nearly 20 years despite lifelong disabilities that would have prevented many others in the same situation from taking the plunge into business ownership. Thomas has extensive physical challenges that require her to use an electric-powered wheelchair to get around. She also has trouble speaking—due to the effects of the cerebral palsy she acquired from a difficult birth experience—and this requires her to use assistive devices to keep in touch with her customers. But she has not allowed these challenges to deter her from getting a college education, pursuing a career and now starting her own business.

Directions: From East Coliseum Boulevard, go north on Hobson Road, and go past the first stoplight at Trier Road, staying in the right lane. Just before the next stoplight at Stellhorn Road, turn right into our parking lot that leads to the IPFW Hobson Center, a small one-story brick building on the right side of the road. Our center is located directly behind (south of) the Speedway gas station on the corner of Hobson/Stellhorn, and directly across the street from a CVS Pharmacy.
