Museum Announces Promotions

Laura Brinkman, executive director of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum, announces promotions to form the museum’s curatorial team.

Jon Bill has been promoted to the position of Curator and will head the curatorial department. Holding a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University, Bill retired as department head and technology education instructor from North Side High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Bill has served the museum as Director of Education and Archives for nearly 15 years. During that time he authored four books including: Auburn Cord Duesenberg – Racers and Record-Setters; Duesenberg Racecars & Passenger Cars; Cord Automobiles L-29 & 810/812; and Auburn Automobiles 1900-1936.

Sam Grate has been promoted to Collections Manager. His responsibilities include all collections records and implementing special projects and exhibitions. Grate holds a Bachelor of General Studies degree from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne and a Masters of Arts in Museum Studies from Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Ethan Bowers interned at the museum in 2014, was hired as Digitization and Access Manager in 2015 and has now been promoted to Archives Manager. Bowers earned a Bachelor of Arts in History & Sociology from the University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a Master of Arts in History from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.

“I am pleased that we have the talent on staff, allowing us to promote from within to create this highly qualified curatorial team,” Brinkman said.
