Girl Scouts To Host Fort Wayne’s Biggest Ice Cream Gutter Party!

We’ve done our research and have concluded that this area’s biggest gutter party was of the banana split variety, and that it was only 10 feet. Well, we’re going to top that by having ice cream sundaes scooped in over fifty feet of gutters using nearly ten gallons of ice cream! Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana is forming new Girl Scout troops now, and is hosting an open recruitment on Saturday, September 12 at 1pm, complete with Girl Scout cookie toppings, sprinkles, and all the trimmings!

Here’s the scoop:

If a current Girl Scout brings a friend to join then she will receive the coveted “Make New Friends” patch! And to sweeten the deal we’ll arm you both with a spoon and a wet wipe and all the ice cream you can eat!

If you are not a Girl Scout but would like to be a part of the coolest (no pun intended) girl-led organization on the planet, now’s your chance! And we’ll also arm you with everything you need for the gnarliest brain freeze ever!

In addition to a belly fully of ice cream, by joining Girl Scouts you will also have a safe, fun, and engaging place to lead and thrive.

“We hope parents will encourage their daughter to join our organization because we truly believe that we provide memorable experiences and arm girls with life skills, lessons and opportunities relevant to girls today,” said Sharon Pohly, CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana Michiana.

Girl Scouts allows girls the chance to learn essential skills in order to deal with issues facing today’s youth such as body image, bullying, and peer pressure. Girl Scouts also have the opportunity to connect with nature, learn wilderness skills and let’s not forget summer camp! In addition, there are numerous programs to help girls learn the importance of health and fitness, as well as STEM programs that highlight technology and science. Girls also get the opportunity to experience artistic or cultural activities that demonstrate healthy forms of self-expression. And, just as important, girls have the opportunity to work on their social skills, learning about the importance of giving back, and treating others with respect while making lifelong friendships.

Girl Scouts is open to all girls from kindergarten through grade 12 and it costs just $25 to be a Girl Scout in the Northern Indiana-Michiana council. There is financial assistance available. Also, If you’re an adult looking for ways to get involved, new troop leaders and co-Leaders will receive a free 2015-16 Girl Scout membership and an exclusive Girl Scout t-shirt!
