Birding Expert To Speak At Salamonie Senior Monday, Aug. 3

Ages 50 and older are invited to the monthly Senior Monday Carry-in Luncheon, Aug. 3, at Salamonie Interpretive Center, Lost Bridge West State Recreation Area, Andrews.

After the noon meal, John Velasquez will present a program on tropical birding. For the past 10 years, Velasquez has traveled outside the United States in search of birds. He will present a collection of photographs.

Velasquez is a board member for Indiana Audubon Society, a member of Kiwanis of Marion, a member of the Marion Lions Club and was recently elected president of the Mississinewa Audubon Club.

Attendees should bring their table service, a prepared dish to share and a $1 donation to help defray costs of the provided main dish.
