Colts Players, Cheerleaders Coming to Parkview Field
Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri and long snapper Matt Overton will be at Parkview Field on Thursday, June 11 when the TinCaps host the Kane County Cougars at 7:05 p.m.
As part of “Colts at Bat,” Vinatieri and Overton will kick the game off with the ceremonial first pitch. The kicker, long snapper, and Colts cheerleaders also will sign autographs for fans.
“We’re excited to partner with the Colts,” said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President – Marketing. “This event says a lot about the Colts organization and their dedication to their fans in Fort Wayne. We can’t wait to have two Pro Bowl NFL players here.”
Vinatieri is a four-time Super Bowl champion and arguably the most famous, and clutch, kicker in NFL history. The 42-year-old, 19-year veteran has played in an NFL-record 30 postseason games and holds the record for most rings by won by a placekicker with four.
After winning three Super Bowls with the Patriots while he played for New England from 1996-2005, Vinatieri joined the Colts in 2006 and promptly won another Super Bowl. He had game-winning kicks in the final seconds of Super Bowl XXXVI and Super Bowl XXXVIII, respectively.
In 2014, Vinatieri made the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career.
Meanwhile, Overton is a former Pro Bowl-er himself, having earned the honor in 2013. Overton has been with the Colts since 2012 after his NFL career began with the Seattle Seahawks in 2007. The Colts signed Overton to an extension in March.
During “Colts at Bat” at Parkview Field, the Colts will provide several elements for fans attending the game, including player autographs (from 5:30-6:45 p.m.), cheerleader autographs (from 7:15 p.m.-5th inning) and performances, Colts Mascot Blue, free Colts giveaways and Colts In Motion, the team’s traveling museum. Fans may also sign up for one of the Colts Official Fan Clubs and register to win Colts tickets. Attendees must purchase a ticket to the baseball game in order to participate in the “Colts at Bat” activities.
Special notes: The Colts encourage all fans to arrive early at Parkview Field. The line for player and cheerleader autographs may be cut off at any time to ensure the tour remains on schedule. Inclement weather or traffic may cause for late arrival or early departure. All Summer Tour events will take place rain or shine. Fans will be allowed one autograph per person; however, fans may get back in line for additional autographs. All Colts event times are local. Player names for each event will be announced in May, but are subject to change.
