ABOUT LAST GAME: Fort Wayne fell in the finale of a four-game set with Lake County, 8-4. The TinCaps led 1-0 through four frames as right-handed starter Dinelson Lamet had eight strikeouts and only allowed one baserunner, but that changed in the fifth when the Captains erupted for six runs to seize a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

CHIRP, CHIRP: Kokomo, Ind., native and Ball State alum T.J. Weir makes his first start of the season for the TinCaps tonight. Out of the bullpen in May, Weir is 2-0 with 0 runs allowed in 6.0 innings.

The TinCaps have drawn 95,084 fans — an average of 5,004 (2nd most in the MWL). TICKLED PINK: Thursday’s Turn the Park Pink Night at Parkview Field raised $3,166 for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Fort Wayne’s pink jerseys were auctioned off to raise funds.

COLTS AT BAT: The TinCaps announced Friday that Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri and long snapper Matt Overton will be at Parkview Field on Thursday, June 11. ROSTER MOVE: The San Diego Padres reinstated right-handed reliever Seth Lucio to Fort Wayne’s roster on Friday and transferred left-handed reliever Patyon Baskette to Extended Spring Training. Lucio went on the Temporary Inactive List Tuesday following the death of his grandmother.

NO TORRES: Outfielder Nick Torres is not in Fort Wayne’s starting lineup tonight for the first time this year. Through his first 31 games, Torres is tied for third in the MWL in hitting (.343), tied for second in hits (41), tied for second in extra-base hits (14), tied for second in runs (24), tied for second in doubles (10), tied for eighth in triples (2).
